Rolling averages: To calculate the second (or next) week’s handicaps I shall multiply the number on the right by this week’s handicap, add to that the minutes and seconds the boat was behind the scratch boat, Asylum, in this race and divide by 1 plus the number on the right. The number on the right will then go up by 1 for the next week’s arithmetic. If Asylum doesn’t race I’ll use the next fastest rated boat that did race and adjust.
